Slumdog Millionaire

I loved Slumdog Millionaire. Why? For the single reason that some truths about street kids were told. That sadly, giving money to begging street children actually pays them to stay ‘there’, and the ‘there’ is not at all how it seems. This is something I have brought to light through my own work and with SalaamGarage, in collaborating with legitimate NGOs.

I am however not happy to see the female co-director Loveleen Tandan has not been co-nominated for best director along with her colleague, Danny Boyle. I hope she is at the very least acknowledged at the Oscars.
