The credit belongs to those who are actually in the arena, who strive valiantly; who know the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spend themselves in a worthy cause; who at the best, know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at the worst, if they fail, fail while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

  1. A powerful quote that shone out of every interview we have done so far. This has been an epic journey and its only just the beginning. Its not just about the story and the project its about how each person, Bandi, Nomeledi, Pixie, Bruce, Fiona, Guy et al have brought a new meaning to life, a new perspective. Its about the inspiration that has channelled through all the love, laughter and humility. Though all the feel good stories and the sad. We have only just scratched the tip of the iceberg. It strikes me that those that have so little materially have got so much to give in other ways – its about rising above adversity and seeking out the beautiful; its about caring.

    Shine to everyone!

  2. One of the most impressive quotes from a distant cousin on my mother’s side. You meant it for the woman you were interviewing and photographing – but it applies to you as well, in the fray sharing with the world what you find honestly – thanks!
